Flour as one of the most widely used ingredient in the kitchen is made from different sources such as corn, wheat, and so on. Flour can be used mostly for making snacks such as chin chin, cakes, meat pies, egg rolls, pancakes, and so on.

One of the special varieties out of flour to talk about is “pancake”. Pancake is a snack which is easy to make and also a balanced diet you can have at breakfast as it is a blend of protein, carbohydrates, as well as fat and oil. The ingredients for making pancakes are flour, baking powder, pinch of salt, sugar, evaporated milk (peak milk), eggs, and butter.

To make the pancake batter, sieve the flour in a bowl, add a pinch of salt, add sugar and baking powder and mix. Make a well in the center of the mixed flour and pour the milk, beaten egg, and melted butter. Mix very well until it turns smooth. Note that the paste should neither be too thick nor too watery.

Heat a lightly oiled non sticky frying pan to fry, over a medium heat. Scoop the batter onto the frying pan using a deep hollow serving spoon preferably for each pancake. Let both sides brown on and then serve.

Pancake can be served with coffee or tea. Also sausage of different variety such as onion sauce, liver sauce, cabbage and carrot sauce, and so on can be used to serve and also for garnishing.
