Many questions come to play when the issue of leadership is tabled. It is important to know that with various kind of leadership such as; the charistmatic leader, visionary leader, diplomatic leader, democratic leader just to name a few. But all this form of leadership point towards directing resources be it human resources, material resources, natural resources and any form of resoirces.Leadership is having a vision, sharing that vision and inspiring others to support the vision while creating a result. But many people we call leaders today are actually "visionless" individuals, people who lacks charisma to proffer solution. Anyone who call his or herself a leader and does not proffer solution to problems is not yet a leader.To many, people view management as leadership. Its not! Leadership comes from influence, and influence can come only from a leader at any level and in any role. True leadership is when those around you are influenced by a leader possitively.Leadership is the ability to help people achieve things they dont think are possible. Leaders are coaches with a passion for developing people, not players; they get satisfaction from achieving objectives through others. Leaders inspire people through a share vision and create an environment where people feel valued and fulfilled.If leadership is the ability to help people achieve things they dont think are possible, then a leader must be a good thinker, he or she must be one who see possibilities and must be willing to help his followers achieve what seems impossible for them.When leaders don't understand the mandate of leadership, crisis is inevitable. Leadership is stepping out of your comfort zone and taking risk to create reward. Leadership is the behavior that brings the future to the present.Leadership means using one's influnence to help guide others in successfully achieving a goal without desire for recognition. A leader is a person who takes you where you will not go alone. Leadership is influence!!! Now the question is "Are You A Leader?"

I think being a leader is at all level of life...at home,at school,at work etc.To be a leader u have to be able to take up responsibilities and to be looked upon as a person what emulating.
ReplyDeleteI agree with everything u've said abt a leader...to answer the question i will say leadership start from within...wen ur able go thru lyf without wanting to cheat ppl or make dem feel less of dem self,see wrong and don't support it,ur ready to stand up for wat will benefit others first before u tink of ur self...dis qualities are hard to find "am i a leader"!
