Most Nigerians depend on white collar jobs as the only means of survival, if their allowance or salaries is not paid at the end of the month, they go hungry. Entrepreneurship is the art of skills acquisition, develop and deploy it to business and generate income. Self-reliance on the other hand is the capacity to rely on on one’s own capabilities and be able to manage one’s own affair, that is you are independent in your means of survival and less dependent on government job and monthly salaries which can be so frustrating.
Government job today has become hot cake in Nigeria, it is now the survival of the fittest but those little things we enjoy doing at our leisure we could just discover develop and deploy it to earn money. There are so many skills out there one could do that will sustain us, most graduates are sitting idle waiting for white collar job one of such skills is the art of liquid soap making, with just little capital, you could get yourself, out of joblessness and be independent
Liquid soap making include the use of certain chemicals such as soda ash, nitrasol, caustic soda, SLS, sulphoric acid, colour, perfume and water.
Uses of some of the chemicals: Nitrasol is the chemical that looks like powdered milk, it serves as the thickener. Sulphoric acid is the only chemical that comes in liquid form which looks like honey and it serves as the major foaming agent. Soda Ash chemical looks ash in colour like some detergent it is a minor thickener in liquid soap. SLS is very white in colour, it has the shape of rice, and it serves the purpose of the minor foaming agent. Colour is for beautification, you could choose any colour of your choice. Perfume is meant for a pleasant smell.
Alright now we will go to the process of making liquid soap. first you get 20 litres of water, a bowl, bucket and a stick ready pour half of the water into the bowl and turn, and empty the nitrasol into the bowl just like turning tuwo about 50 to 70 times, then dissolve soda ash in a bucket by using a stick to turn few times, after which you pour it into the bowl of nitrasol and turn to mix them. You now dissolve caustic soda and SLS, one after the other and turn it inside the bowl and turn to mix after the SLS, you pour the sulphoric acid as it is, since it is in liquid form then turn, you now dissolve your colour with water in a bucket and pour, mix it, finally your you pour the perfume as it is and turn, your soap ready!
Liquid soap can be used for different household chores like washing plates and clothes, mopping floors and surfaces; it can also be used for washing vehicles. You can package the soap to your desired sizes; 4, 12, 20 or 25 litres gallons which depends on your customers demand.
