Skills acquisition is the ability to discern, have knowledge and understanding, to gain, usually by one's own extertions. It is the ability to be trained on a particular task or function and become expert in it. When a skill is acquired in many discipline, it is assumed that the future gain that would result from it are of greater significance to productivity.
Some of these skills acquisition include soap making, making of disinfectants, insecticides, fashion designing, tailoring, Hair dressing, beats making etc.
Most of our youths tends to look down on skill acquisition. They believe that the only way to become great in the society is by running after white cola job. This ideology has been inculcate in them in them, and this ideology must be scraped out, in order to build a great nation, and eradicate crime rate in the society.
However, there are alot of people who are well known all Over the world just for the skills they have acquired. Such people include Bill gates, Dangote etc.
More so, this is similar to what happens in the world of football. Many football clubs fight Over star footballers in every football season. In that case, it is left for the footballers to select from many opportunities that wait for him. Some football clubs like to have star footballers like Christiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Rooney and many others because of the skills the posses in football.
Also the comedia, Ayo Makun skills has made him a super star. Just imagine the power of skill acquisition. If our youth can only rise up to skill acquisition, most of the crime by the youth will be reduce and everyone will be up and doing, meeting ends meet. The world is embracing a knowledge based economy. We need to acquire more knowledge and skills economic growth because every sector needs better skills to keep it running.
