Nigeria has forty federal universities with Lagos, Kaduna and Kano States having two each. Kogi State is set to be the fourth to have two.
The Nigerian Senate has taken a step towards upgrading the Kabba College of Agriculture to Federal University of Agriculture.
If successfully upgraded, the diversification of the Nigerian economy will have a better chance since the school will be purely an agricultural institution. The school will also reduce unemployment rate.
The college is currently under DAC, Zaria.
