NO SWEAT, NO GAIN!!!

An adage said “the journey of thousand miles begins with a step “. This is true as life itself is a process which begins somewhere and ends somewhere. Just like a little baby is born at infancy, become an adolescent and grow up to a fully mature man or woman; this illustration depicts the dynamic nature of life. How then can this be applied to our academic, and socio-economic lifestyles.

Many people nowadays set unrealistic plans, unachievable goals and objectives; consequently, they dream high with no positive mindset to achieve those dreams. For instance, students of Ahmadu Bello University, our dominant dreams thus: “when I graduate from school, I will get a good white collar job (earning an enormous salary or a very high wage as a return of my sweat and toil), get married and live happily, give birth to children, enjoy all there is to enjoy and then, subsequently and as expected die.

However, any man or woman you see today and describe as “successful and accomplished” started with a step, they invested their time and energy in the past so that they would not have to
sweat in the future. My fellow brothers and sisters, it is time to wake up from our slumbers, aim high, dream big, stop the procrastination and take positive steps towards life, and you will
achieve greater things than you can ever imagine.

It is time, and now is the time to stand up and face life’s challenges while living victoriously as great men of today. You have to plan for the future, do the right thing at the right time and furthermore correcting mistakes made in the past. The great men you see today are the product of what they invested yesterday: determination and tenacity, they invested much of their time in the secret and sacred places so as to reap the benefits in their future life. Likewise, the first class students, renowned business tycoons like Aliko Dangote, AlasanDantata, Wale Adenuga, Billgates and many others are the products of their dreams through hard work and faith. They invested a great deal of their time, energy and intellect in their yesterday, which resulted into the success and prosperity you see today.

All that is needed of you is to take the right attitude towards life and do only what is required, and surely, you would reap the benefits of your efforts. Or would you rather fold your arms a little and reap poverty? The choice is yours; you have all it takes to live a victorious life. Do not wait until you finish school. Find something doing now that you know would ease your tomorrow. Make judicious use of your time so that you would not have to regret tomorrow. You have to be reminded that, “you cannot climb a tree of success while thy hands are inside pocket”.
