I often wonder why we do the things we do, our mind keep playing games with our heart. It's OK to want more things in life but at what cost? One great feature of every human being is the element of selfishness, at the risks of hurting anyone that stands in its way.
My father land has become a place of agony, where people look up to God and pray for miracles to happen. Where people hearts are in their mouth for the fear of their lives, where poor masses lay in bare floor thinking of where their next meal will come from. Where children barely know the meaning of brotherhood", oh I weep , for I know this is only the beginning of a sad ending. What happened to my fatherland, gone are those days where you can leave your home and feel safe, where your neighbors were like family to us but now even those close to us are no different from the thief that crawls at night to reap you of all your hard work. What foundation are we laying down for our off -spring? What message are we passing across to them. Is there hope for change or are we just going to embrace the world as it is with the darkness it comes with.
The society we imbibe in, set standard for which you must meet up to be recognized. We thereby try to be something we are not become the "perfect person" that everyone should aim to achieve within our societies. By doing this alot of us forget that our imperfections makes us better than before and we learn more. Values and virtues are no longer seen as a criteria for a better society. We all have to work together for hope shouldn't be something we wish for but rather something we all try to achieve for a better tomorrow.
